The guy at the front desk, Mauricio, was amazing! He was so nice when we came in and made sure to get us our room right away. He let us know where everything was and was very upfront on the deposit, charges, and made me feel comfortable about staying there. I was at a different hotel for my three nights in San Antonio, and it was not good at all! I wish I would’ve came to this hotel. Online it said only a king bed room was available. But as soon as we got there, he saw I had my little brother and mom with me and offered a room with two Queen beds, no charge. He was so considerate. He said if we needed anything to let him know and he kept his word on that the whole night we were there. I made sure to confirm his name with him so I could leave a review. I signed up for rewards because my boyfriend had his airforce graduation there and I knew I’d be traveling back so I wanted to make sure I went there next time. And if Candlewood is in other states, it will be my first choice. Last thing, I am 18 and I forgot to check if I had to be 21 to check in at this hotel, so when I first got there, I was nervous they weren’t going to let us stay even though I tried to change it into my moms name. Mauricio ended up helping us out a ton and make sure to get us into our room and settled as quickly as he could. He ended up making it okay for it to be in my name and didn’t take more than 5 minutes.

Friendly and polite staff. Free coffee! Communication by texting instead, running to the lobby. I did not like dog friendly people on the fourth floor, where we were staying , too much barking. All dog, friendly motels should have dogs closer to the entrance to defecate outside . The first floor should be dog, friendly guests, and their pets . I don’t feel like we should have to hear barking. There should be a separation of people that need a more quiet sleep up on the fourth floor and third floor.. Dogs react to sound and bark more frequently, I explained this to the front desk and they were sympathetic, but could not make change to accommodate, my request. The walls were not that soundproof . The staff did the best to notify the guests with dogs to quiet down after 9 o’clock But we were here to celebrate my daughter’s graduation from Air Force Boot Camp . We got to see her for three days, but we had to get up at 4 AM and get to the base through security so a good nights sleep was crucial, refreshed and ready for a long day . VERY CLEAN! me & my husband was very impressed with this hotel we travel alot and this was the cleanest hotel we’ve ever been. the whole room not a single complaint, hallway and rooms even smell so good! cleaning staff does a wonderful job! #1 thing for us is the cleanliness of our room and this is a 10. we got a queen suite and it was perfect with our little family, small kitchenette has everything you need wish we would’ve stayed more days as it was very accommodating. they have so many small amenities you don’t have to worry about when traveling shampoo, body wash, conditioner, body lotion, makeup remover, hair dryer etc! plenty of towels everything was overall a great hotel experience. Small kitchenette glasses, microwave was spotless! check in was very easy and quick!

I recently stayed here and was thoroughly impressed by its proximity to Lackland Air Force Base. As someone with ties to the military, the convenience of being just a stone's throw away from the base was a major plus. This made attending events, visiting loved ones, or simply exploring the area incredibly easy. The hotel's location not only saved me time but also provided a sense of comfort knowing I was close by. Apart from its excellent location, the hotel offered comfortable accommodations and attentive service, making my stay truly enjoyable. I highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Lackland AFB or the surrounding area.

The staff were awesome, very helpful and friendly. They were very courteous and accommodating when we had to extend our stay. The location was great to the AFB Lackland. Convenient to everything else. The facilities were prefect and the room was clean. I love the laundry service being available as well as the pool till late. We love the little store they have for the midnight snacking.
