Candlewood Suites - San Antonio Lackland AFB Area, an IHG Hotel

The guy at the front desk, Mauricio, was amazing! He was so nice when we came in and made sure to get us our room right away. He let us know where everything was and was very upfront on the deposit, charges, and made me feel comfortable about staying there. I was at a different hotel for my three nights in San Antonio, and it was not good at all! I wish I would’ve came to this hotel. Online it said only a king bed room was available. But as soon as we got there, he saw I had my little brother and mom with me and offered a room with two Queen beds, no charge. He was so considerate. He said if we needed anything to let him know and he kept his word on that the whole night we were there. I made sure to confirm his name with him so I could leave a review. I signed up for rewards because my boyfriend had his airforce graduation there and I knew I’d be traveling back so I wanted to make sure I went there next time. And if Candlewood is in other states, it will be my first choice. Last thing, I am 18 and I forgot to check if I had to be 21 to check in at this hotel, so when I first got there, I was nervous they weren’t going to let us stay even though I tried to change it into my moms name. Mauricio ended up helping us out a ton and make sure to get us into our room and settled as quickly as he could. He ended up making it okay for it to be in my name and didn’t take more than 5 minutes.

Friendly and polite staff. Free coffee! Communication by texting instead, running to the lobby. I did not like dog friendly people on the fourth floor, where we were staying , too much barking. All dog, friendly motels should have dogs closer to the entrance to defecate outside . The first floor should be dog, friendly guests, and their pets . I don’t feel like we should have to hear barking. There should be a separation of people that need a more quiet sleep up on the fourth floor and third floor.. Dogs react to sound and bark more frequently, I explained this to the front desk and they were sympathetic, but could not make change to accommodate, my request. The walls were not that soundproof . The staff did the best to notify the guests with dogs to quiet down after 9 o’clock But we were here to celebrate my daughter’s graduation from Air Force Boot Camp . We got to see her for three days, but we had to get up at 4 AM and get to the base through security so a good nights sleep was crucial, refreshed and ready for a long day . Extremely well maintained hotel. Amenities were great. Staff was great. We were attending the graduation of our granddaughter from Air Force Basic Training and it was very, very convenient to the the base.

The staff was amazing. Everyone was very friendly and helpful when I needed to change something on our reservation. They keep the property very clean and sanitized.

The staff were awesome, very helpful and friendly. They were very courteous and accommodating when we had to extend our stay. The location was great to the AFB Lackland. Convenient to everything else. The facilities were prefect and the room was clean. I love the laundry service being available as well as the pool till late. We love the little store they have for the midnight snacking.
